HERON H.OIL Indicator (CE Certified)

Dual Function Oil and Water Level Indicator

This model offers field-friendly quick-change probe

feature 9-volt battery operated

Simplify your field sampling

With the very field–friendly Heron H.OIL Indicator!

The Heron H.OIL Indicator detects both floating Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL) and Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) and detects water (static) level.

Length options: 50ft/15m-500ft/150m comes spooled onto the standard Nylon reel that includes the tape guide and hanger on the frame leg. Tape lengths of 600ft/180m-1000ft/300m comes spooled onto the large aluminum reel (this reel includes hanger but not tape guide). For tape lengths, 1500ft/450m- 2000ft/600m+ (longer tapes may be available) comes spooled onto large the 12” - 16” aluminum reel referred to as ‘double’ (this reel does not include hanger or tape guide). For tape lengths of 1500ft/450m + the power reel available.

Applications: The Heron H.OIL Indicator is engineered to endure hydrocarbons and harsh groundwater, surface water, and borehole conditions; in horizontal and vertical applications.

The Heron H.Oil Indicator is certified CSA intrinsically safe which is ideal for use in hazardous environments such as Oil & Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical Industries.

Features of HERON H.OIL Indicator

About the Probe:

  • Reliable hydrocarbon (LNAPL/DNAPL) detection transmits to electronics on reel providing solid audio and visual LED signal

  • Reliable water (static) level detection transmits to electronics on reel providing intermittent audio and visual LED signal

  • Capable of measuring product layer as thin as 1mm (1/200ft)

  • Fully pressure/depth rated (IP68)

  • Quick-change, field-friendly probe can be easily replaced in just a few minutes

  • Probe does NOT contain holes or recesses, eliminating contaminate build-up concern

  • Probe Link-disconnect feature prevents tape damage if probe is snagged in a well, by releasing the probe at the link**

  • Simple to maintain and clean using biodegradable dishwashing soap with a soft brush

  • 3/4” od x 7.9” length probe with sensor protector shroud

  • Wetted materials: Stainless Steel, Viton, Delrin, ABS, and Grilamid

About the Electronics and Reel:

  • Operating mode and detection: Water (static) level and product interface (LNAPL/DNAPL)

  • Audio Signal: 80 dpi │ Visual Signal: Ultra bright LED

  • Electronic Reel Module (IP65) is removable for easy cleaning and servicing

  • Electronic Reel Module (IP65) automatically distinguishes between water and hydrocarbons

  • Electronic Reel Module (IP65) circuits and components are water-tight to protect from moisture and dust intrusion

  • Ground lead on reel provides a suitable grounding source during use (Check your local grounding regulations when working in hazardous conditions)

  • Vinyl Ergonomic Hand-Grip for comfortable portability

  • Custom Spooling Handle allows for easy tape lowering and re-coil onto reel

  • Tape Guide and Hanger mounted on the reel supports the tape and probe at a well head, and protects tape from sharp well-casing edges

  • Maximum temperature: 80⁰ C

About the Tape:

  • Kevlar jacketed high tensile strength steel tape is engineered to withstand hydrocarbon and other solvents or harsh contaminants

  • Markings available in metric (mm) or engineering scale (Feet/Inches) (1/100’)

  • Tape is replaceable

Padded Carry Case included to protect your

HERON H.OIL Indicator from weather elements

Warranty: 5 years; probe 1 year

                                                                                                  * Temporarily Submersible

** In this case, manufacture service to replace the link and probe are required

Certified: Intrinsically safe to CSA and ANSI/UL standards, class 9098-1 or

9098-81 (USA) for hazardous locations and Class I groups A, B, C and D
